New Program for Writers
My name is Amy Ledin and I am contacting you because I wanted to let Writers, Ink know about a new program we are offering for writers at local libraries.
Bill Konigsberg, award-winning author of Openly Straight, Out of the Pocket, and The Porcupine of Truth, will be the Writer in Residence at Mesa Public Library from March-May of 2016. He will be at the library holding open office hours each week. During these office hours, anyone looking to learn about writing from an award-winning, published author can come and meet the author, get advice, seek inspiration, or ask for a critique on their work. The Writer in Residence will also provide two public workshops at the library each month. His first event, “So, You Want to Publish a Book” will be this Saturday, March 19th, from 1-3 PM.
This program is free and open to the public, and is supported by the Arizona State Library, Archives & Public Records, a division of the Secretary of State, with federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.
We are also hosting Writers in Residence at the Avondale Library, Glendale Public Library, and Pima County Public Library.
This is a brand new program and we really want to get the word out to people who could use this service. If you know anyone else who would be interested in this program, please let me know so I can reach out to them as well.
Feel free to contact me with any questions.
Thank you,
Amy Ledin
